Engaging Communities, Empowering Lives - A Journey of Education and Support

Introduction

Social assistance is an effective means to combat hunger, depression, and juvenile delinquency, each of which hinders social peace in one way or another. Many children, youth, and adults live in truly precarious conditions. This situation is the reason for our assistance program for certain young people, children, and adults facing these kinds of situations.

In fact, our mission being to form responsible citizens, useful to themselves and to the community, we have taken on the responsibility of providing many of these young people and children with a schooling program. The beneficiaries can therefore enjoy education, a fundamental right.

Educational Initiatives

During the 2022-2023 academic year, a total of 24 young people and children had their studies sponsored by CAPROVAH. First, 1 child was introduced to the school environment for the first time thanks to the association, which guaranteed full schooling for their first year of kindergarten. Then, 2 children each benefited from a scholarship at the primary level, as did 2 others at the secondary level.

Then 18 young people had the chance to venture into professional studies. 5 started in dressmaking, 5 others in haute couture, 6 in culinary arts and pastry-making, and the last 2 embraced cake decoration.

Then, a young person was able to experience university studies, a real luxury in Haiti in these so-called modern times, thanks to CAPROVAH.

Note that the organization offered professionals the opportunity to do an internship in companies in the city related to their fields of training. Now, they are all ready for the job market. Some are assigned to institutions. Others manage in their own small business. Still, they only depend on themselves today. This was the goal set by the organization for this vocational training program.

We would like to reach many more cases. However, funding remains a major handicap to achieving this goal.

Future Plans

We plan to relocate the institution and reside in a large professional center where we can accommodate more young people as we plan to integrate other fields such as garment making, catering, training in green energy (more precisely solar), agro-industry (fruit and vegetable processing), electricity and plumbing, woodworking, shoemaking, tourism and hospitality training, etc.

To achieve this, CAPROVAH is seeking help from financial partners who believe that investment in human capital is eternal and is what transcends societies. For our country to be reborn, we must teach young people self-sufficiency, and this can only be achieved through training at all levels.

Community Support

During the week of January 30 to February 3, 2022, about 40 people each received a food provision kit. The purpose of this distribution is to support them in order to address the precarious food situation of these compatriots who face a truly difficult daily life and who must live day to day. At the same time next year, the number of people and meals increased from 40 to 100. This time, the activity was sponsored by donors living abroad.

Direct Community Support

With the aim of supporting compatriots living day to day, we took the initiative to offer a hot meal to more than 65 disadvantaged people, at our premises on Dupré Turnier Street on Friday, February 24, 2023. An activity that began with a moment of silent prayer to respect everyone's faith. Then, the members of the association who prepared the meal themselves enjoyed it with the guests in a friendly atmosphere. Then, some beneficiaries expressed their most sincere gratitude to CAPROVAH. Finally, the association took care of the transportation costs.

Educational Achievements

From August 28 to September 1, the National Institute of Vocational Training visited Claire Marie Masse Enterprises for CAP (Certificate of Professional Aptitude), BAP (Professional Aptitude Certificate), and DT (Technical Diploma) exams. About forty young people took the exams. The INFP officials on site testified to the rigor of this vocational training institute that stands out from the crowd. They praised the leadership of the general director, namely Mrs. Claire Marie Masse. The institute invites you to the graduation of these outgoing classes at the beginning of October.

Conclusion

On Saturday, September 16, in Mrs. Claire Marie Masse's courtyard, CAPROVAH took charge of the wedding of Dioleine Antoine and her husband Luckenson Louis, parents of Chelda Louis, a beneficiary of the organization's schooling program. It was an extraordinary ceremony. The officiating priest, as well as the two actors, not to mention the parents and relatives of the family, almost the entire audience thanked and encouraged the organization's initiatives, which always finds an innovative idea to better support the community.
