Transforming Lives Together

The Center for Learning and Promotion of Human Values (CAPROVAH) is an apolitical, socio-cultural, non-profit organization led by an administrative council. It was established in Jacmel on October 7, 2007.

Numerous activities have been carried out since its inception. In 2007, in partnership with the Jacmel branch of the Anna Marie Devarieux household, it contributed to the training of a group of two hundred (200) young people, 80% girls and 20% boys in economically precarious situations, in catering, culinary arts, pastry-making, and table service. This was supported by the National Institute of Vocational Training (INFP), the European Union (EU), and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). This training took place over a period of 12 months.
After the terrible earthquake of January 12, 2010, the Association distributed food and sanitary products to affected families affiliated with the association. This assistance was facilitated by CROSS, an organization operating in the South-East. During the same year, a training of trainers in risk and disaster management was provided to members of the CAPROVAH committee team.

Empowering Future Generations: Educational and Support Initiatives by the Association.

Since October 2016, the Association has been working closely with a Vocational Training school: the Professional Training Institute of Claire Marie Massé enterprises, working to train young people from diverse backgrounds through contributions from certain members for now. The organization sometimes offers a hot meal to people in acute food insecurity.

Every year-end period (Christmas), CAPROVAH organizes an activity to distribute gifts and food to children and vulnerable people, with the exception of 2022 due to lack of resources.

The Association firmly believes that the path to sustainable development passes through education and training of human beings. This is why it also turns to school-age children. It provides financial assistance to certain children regularly enrolled in a school whose parents are in precarious conditions. However, it cannot meet the demand due to the low number of donors to this program.
